The opening round of the Queensland Road Team Series for 2019 sees teams racing in three stages: Stage 1 Road Race, Stage 2 Individual Time Trial, Stage 3 Road Race.

  • 3 Stages: Two Road Stages, and Individual Time Trial 
  • The Individual Time Trial will incorporate a round of the Queensland Individual Time Trial Series

Stage 1 Road Race 

The opening stage of the 2019 Queensland Road Team Series sees riders competing over a looped Road Race course, with the opportunity of collecting points for Mountain and Sprint Classifications.  Starting and finishing in the township of Elimbah, the Women and Masters Men complete three loops of the 20 km course with a total distance of 61.8 km with 473 m of climbing. Whilst the Men complete four loops of the 20 km course with an accumulation of 630 m of climbing.

Stage 2 Individual Time Trial 

In 2019, Stage 2 of the first round of the Queensland Road Team Series doubles as the first round of the Queensland Individual Time Trial (QLD ITT) Series hosted by Moreton Bay Cycling Club.

Athletes racing in the QLD ITT Series will start before QRTS riders, all QRTS athletes are automatically entered into Round 1 of the QLD ITT Series.

Non-QRTS riders start their Individual Time Trial at 11:30 am, QRTS riders start time will be released on the 29th May 2019. QRTS riders will ride in the reverse order of the General Classification following Stage 1 results, starting with Masters Men, Women, and then Men.

Stage 3 Road Race 

The final stage of the opening round of the Queensland Road Team Series, riders will climb to the finish line with a mountainous Road Race. The Road Race comprises of a two-part course; a lower sections where riders loop before climbing to the finish line.

The lower course sees athletes looping fast around the Wamuran area to warm up before the challenging mountain top finish*. Finishing on top of Mount Mee, the Women and Masters Men will complete five laps of the 11 km course, before the 7 km climb completing a total distance of 62 kms with 1,302 m of climbing. The Men will take on the lower circuit six times before summiting Mount Mee, completing a total distance of 75.3 km with 1,467 m of climbing for Stage 3.

Riders will accumulate points in the sprint and KOM/QOM categories.
